WHAM! No it’s not the POP musical group George Michael was in, but rather a mishap at LA Fitness.
There is such an eclectic group of folks at this gym from hard core trainers, to people barely phoning it in. The locker rooms can often be crowded and certainly noisy. Closing my locker door it met the cabinet with a BANG noise.
The man sitting on a floor table next to me nearly came out of his skin and gave me a look of death! “Good God man, must you slam the door so loud?”
I said, “I am so sorry, it slipped and it would never purposely offend you.”
He mumbled on about other obscure grievances about the gym and as I walked to the showers.
I said, “ I hope someone is driving you around because it’s really noisy and haphazard out there on the roads; may this be the worst thing you experience today.”
Can you imagine… loud sounds at the gym?… clanging weights, grunting, loud talking and music blaring in the classes – that’s pretty much par for the course my man. Loud noises and glare bug me too and I avoid them if I can help it, but you still have to adapt and function in life and there are so many things we have to ignore.
Winston Churchill said, “If I stop to throw a rock at every barking dog, I’ll never accomplish my mission.” What noise from idiots, neighbors, friends or relatives are you letting consume you? Let that s#*% go! Stay on your voyage, course and mission by allowing your goals to be accomplished with daily positive interactions.
