Teeth ethereally are related to being organized as well as realms of confidence, personal power, and stability. With dread, I had been going to the same dental clinic for 15 years but I was getting signs it was time to leave.
At my last text-confirmed appointment for a cleaning, I rolled up to find a dozen of all staff in the reception area… “And you’re here to see?” the receptionist quipped. “I’m here for my cleaning.” Oh there would be no cleanings today! Even after emails and texts confirming my appointment, nope not today because they were switching over computer systems!
I rescheduled my cleaning the following week only to be called the day before that my insurance isn’t covering it. I said, “Let me call you back to reschedule.” I called the insurance company and of course the policy was paid up and active. Ok Spirit, I got it.
Fast forward to a new dental office that’s more like a family and my plan covered x-ray, exam and cleaning. The last folks had me paying $250 four times a year because I needed “deep cleanings”. The new dentist did the gum measurements himself. 2223322223222223. At the last place I went it was 33343334444 put a watch on that last one for bleeding. What changed? They’re pirates! That’s what changed.
After my cleaning I hesitated to ask the hygienist, “When do I need to come back?”, “In 6 months” she said in a soft voice followed by, “Your teeth and gums are fine.” Anger and resentment rose within me that I had to fish out. Those last dental pirates were hooking and cooking me and making me feel like my teeth were going to fall out on the way to the car
Take care of your teeth folks. Should you be brushing with fluoride, Calcium Hydroxyapatite 7.5, 10 or 20, Toms, or Parodontax? What kind of mouthwash and how often? How often should I floss 𓍼 and what’s the best product for me, regular, Glide, picks or tape? Get on my schedule and together we’ll figure it out! Get on my schedule 15 mins or 30 mins.
